Lisa has been actively working as an attorney since she graduated Florida Coastal School of Law and was licensed by the Georgia Bar in 2007. She discovered her passion after witnessing firsthand the social injustices immigrant Latinos face on a day-to-day basis.

Lisa was born in Hialeah, Florida to a Peruvian father and an American mother. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia as a child and grew up there. She took some time off between high school and college and discovered her passion for law while working as an interpreter in court. She realized there was a strong need for Spanish-speaking attorneys. In 2002, she graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology and married Attorney Marco Ruiz the same year. They then moved to Jacksonville, Florida so that Lisa could attend Florida Coastal School of Law.

After graduating from law school in 2007, she worked for another attorney for one year before opening the doors to her own practice, now known to all as Ruiz Law, in 2008. In 2016, Lisa completed a life-long dream of hers and moved with her family to the beach. In 2018, Ruiz Law also moved to the beach, and is now located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Lisa’s favorite cases to work on are complex family immigration cases. She especially enjoys fixing cases that have gone off-course due to faulty representation. As she looks towards the future of the firm, she gratefully accepts her position as CEO Attorney of Ruiz Law, and looks forward to continuing to provide quality representation to all clients.

WE WANT TO HELP
Everyone that works at the Ruiz Law Firm, from the attorney to the front desk assistant, have a strong passion for immigration. Most of the staff has had personal experiences with the complex U.S. Immigration system. We realize that the legal world of Immigration is not easily navigable for someone who is not legally trained in this field. Immigration laws are constantly changing, and the criteria and documentation required by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) can be daunting. Ruiz Law is here to save you from the time and headaches that can result from attempting to go at it alone.
